2016 Château Petit Bocq, Bordeaux, France, Saint-Estèphe
Château Petit Bocq belongs since 1993 to the Belgian Lagneaux Blaton family. She has made significant investments in the latest equipment and working methods applied very thoughtful.
Château Petit Bocq is somehow an exception to Saint-Estèphe as wine is made from Merlot alone, hence the feminine character.
The vineyard does not even have 15 hectares and is spread over 80 parcels on the best soils of gravel. The vines are over 35 years, yields are relatively low, which can only benefit the quality.
The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels of French oak, half renewed every year. The wine is clarified by egg white, it does not undergo filtration, bottling is obviously made at the castle and packaging is done in wooden crates.
