2009 Château Samion, Bordeaux, France, Montagne Saint-Emilion
Of all of Saint Emilion's satellite regions, Montagne Saint Emilion is home to the "deepest, richest wines" by Robert Parker.
Owner of a very large vineyard, 550 hectares in total, RCR Vignobles proposes here a wine essentially based on Merlot.
Vineyard of 12 hectares situated between Saint-Emilion and Pomerol with two distinct soil types : gravel and clay. It combines the elegance of the former with the richness of the latter. Aged on oak barrels for 70 %, 1/3 new barrels each year. 30 % on inox tanks to beware the freshness. Average age of the vines is 30 years.
