2011 Mâcon Solutré-Pouilly, Domaine Pascal Renaud, Bourgogne, France, Mâcon Solutré-Pouilly
From a very ancient family of winemakers in Pouilly , Pascal Renaud took over the family business in 1986 with 5 hectares of owned Pouilly –Fuissé of the Balladur/ Delacour family. Then he buys it in 1998.
During all these years Pascal and his wife Mireille have continued to evolve and grow the domain, to acquire famous names such as Mâcon-Solutré and Saint-Veran . In 2008, their son William decided to join this parents , bringing with him, three hectares of Pouilly-Fuissé and 0,4 hectares Mâcon-Solutré 0.40 hectares.
The whole vineyard is grassed, one rank on two, to compete with the vigor of the vine but also to limit soil erosion and thus preserve the soil of each plot. On the other row is made a frequent intervention on the soil . No insecticides are used on the plots.
Average age of vines : 25 years. This vineyard area of 2 hectares. Soil is clayey limestone. Manual harvesting. Fermentation with natural yeasts present on the grapes and aging on fine lees .
