2008 Beaune-Bastion 1er Cru - Domaine Chanson, Burgundy, France, Beaune 1er Cru
1999: Chanson Pere & Fils is integrated in the family group around Bollinger Champagne.
This group of family domains brings together the best specialists in every area: Bollinger and Ayala Champagne, Langlois-Chateau in the Loire, Delamain in Cognac. A new team, with extensive experience in the major areas of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, makes every effort to maintain this high quality. Authenticity, making the terroirs speak and a close partnership with the best winemakers of Burgundy contribute to this.
Soil: chalk, marl and limestone. Site: The Premiers Crus vineyards of Domaine Chanson are aged in casks in the Bastion cellars. This cuvée is a blend of grapes sourced from selected plots among the Premiers Crus of the domain located on the hill of Beaune.
The Vintage 2008: After a very warm spring, the weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. It became fine again from the end of August with much sun and a north wind, which aided concentration of flavours. The harvest commenced at the end of September in perfect conditions under an Indian summer. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery with regular bâtonnage (stirring of the lees in the barrel) have produced very pure white wines, well-balanced with fantastic acidity.
Aging in oak during 11 months.
