2013 Les vignes de Bila-Haut, M. Chapoutier, Languedoc Roussillon, France, Côtes du Roussillon AOP
Maison Chapoutier is an important wine maker in the finest appellations of the Rhone Valley from Côte-Rôtie through the Hermitage until Côtes du Rhône reaching down the Côtes de Roussillon.
Part of the grapes are coming from clay-limestone soils of the Agly Valley; the other from granites soil in altitude (500 m, late terroirs).
The harvest is manual. Decanted cold. The wine is made in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
Ageing lasts a few months in stainless steel to keep the freshness and minerality of the wine.
