This very old family domain was founded in 1630 and is situated in Pouilly-sur-Loire. 300 years later André Châtelain offers his wine abroad and has built the foundations of their international reputation. The 12th generation of the Châtelain family now leads this 30 hectares vineyard.
This Sancerre comes from of a soil with 80% clay and limestone and 20% caillottes (small round stones), in the area of Verdigny, Sury-en-Vaux, Chavignol.
Variety: 100% Sauvignon.
Average age of the vines: 20-30 years.
Vinification: in stainless steel tank with temperature control (16°-18°) in each tank to control the fermentation.
