2012 Valréas, Domaine de Lumian, Rhône Valley, France, Valréas, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages
This wine is produced by winemakers and life partners Phétisson Gilles and Caroline Bonnefoy who each have their own domain. Located on the soil of Valréas, the Lumian domain occupies 35 ha.
In 1999, Gilles opted for a healthier way of farming and engaged in organic agriculture.
The soil is composed of clay and limestone and the vines have an average age of 25 to 30 years.
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand picking and are assembled in stainless steel tanks to be fermented.
Depending on the vintage, fermentation and maceration last two to three weeks.
The wines still endure a year in French oak barrels before bottling.
