A wine for everyday drinking, a dinner with friends, or a glass in front of the fire: Collection’s Bordeaux Rouge is a well-balanced blend of traditional grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The high dosage of Cabernet Sauvignon guarantees its classic elegance and the “Lafite” style, gives it a charm and roundness that flatters the palate.
The ageing takes 9 months partially on barrels, partially on steel to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
The vintage 2010 was marked by a historic drought; this produced an average yield that was 15% lower than in 2009. However, this enhanced the overall quality of the wines, which were exceptionally rich in tannins, with high levels of alcohol balanced by strong acidity, giving the wines freshness and longevity. The 2010 Bordeaux reds are powerful, lively and balanced.
These wines have been produced by the team of Lafite-Rothschild with the same care as the great wines of the domains.
