2007 Château La Bessane, Bordeaux, France, Margaux
The Château is situated in Cantenac, one of the five municipalities of the Margaux appellation and one of the finest terroirs of the Haut-Médoc, with its gravelly soil on a clay-limestone subsoil.
The vineyard lies in the heart of the classified crus, being only three hectares of which the majority planted with Petit Verdot, an old Médoc grape, which has a strong character, color, richness and tannins. It should absolutely be harvested at full maturity and therefore, as late as possible.
The wine ages for 15 months in oak barrels, 1/3 of which are new barrels. We recognize the wines of Margaux by their extreme finesse, classic elegance, richness and silkiness.
