2009 Château La Gorce, Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux, France, Médoc
Château La Gorce is a small château in the Médoc with a vineyard of 45 hectares in one piece. The Chateau is situated near Saint-Estephe, the wine village where many great Bordeaux wines are made. The property is situated on a hill with a soil rich in limestone and clay. Since 1980 owned by Raoul Fabre, he is responsible for the enormous rise in quality.
The Cru Bourgeois Château La Gorce is a characterful wine, recognizable instantly due to his typical Medoc structure with black and red berry fruit.
The wine is vinified traditionally and matured for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels. He is not filtered before bottling to keep in the taste all patterns of the wine intact. This wine is made from the oldest vines of the domain.
