Philippe Gonet Brut Réserve, Champagne, France, Champagne
The Classic Brut is primarily a wine of pleasure and sharing. The third of Chardonnay of Montgueux in the assembly gives it freshness harmoniously complemented by the roundness of the Pinot Noirs and Meunier of the Marne Valley. Pierre Gonet highlights here the most fruity expression of his vineyard.
This is the story of an encounter between a former vineyard cultivated for nearly two centuries by the same family, and the seventh generation, brother and sister, who get control very early on. A fantastic adventure begins for brother and sister, 22 and 23 years respectively, when they decide to take over the family business and continue the work of their father Philippe Gonet, who died three years earlier. A heavy challenge for these youngsters that they took on with a passion, that runs in their veins and those of six generations farmers and winemakers, who preceded them. Pierre and Chantal, contrasting and complementary personalities, share a common vision: to make Champagne Philippe Gonet a must-have winemaker, recognized worldwide for its high quality wines that express the richness, purity, nuances and minerality of their terroir: Le Mesnil -sur- Oger.
