2011 Les Maquisards, Dopff & Irion, Alsace, France, Pinot Gris
Dopff Irion and is one of the most famous and ancient wine producers in the Alsace region.
LES MAQUISARDS refers to the part of the estates of Chateau de Riquewihr planted with Pinot Gris. This name was attributed by René Dopff, the founder of the House in homage to his war resistance companions. Pinot Gris was his favorite grape variety.
Only manual harvesting.
Vinification: maceration after destemming with temperature control during 10 to 15 days after a slight heating of the juice. Matured on inox barrels during 9 months before bottling and storage of 9 months to 24 months in bottle before marketing according to the vintage.
