2010 Les Murailles, Dopff & Irion, Alsace, France, Riesling
Dopff Irion and is one of the most famous and ancient wine producers in the Alsace region.
LES MURAILLES refers to the part of the estates of Chateau de Riquewihr, owned by DOPFF & IRION and planted with Riesling. The close proximity of the walls explains the wine’s name.
The vineyard is 1.25 hectare and the vines are around twenty years. Clay soil north of Riquewihr and silty clay in the south.
Only manual harvesting.
Vinification: maceration after destemming with temperature control during 10 to 15 days after a slight heating of the juice. Matured on inox barrels during 9 months before bottling and storage of 9 months to 24 months in bottle before marketing according to the vintage.
