Being the third generation of winemakers, Sylvie and Marie Courselle are responsible for managing the Château today. Both in their the twenties, the sisters Courselle are graduated winemakers and agronomists graduates and have gained international experience working on Australian, Californian and Spanish vineyards.
This experience is now used at the family estate. "Fruity wines are popular right now. The strength of Bordeaux resides in the quality of tannins as they age, » says Sylvie. « We want to adapt, but we will not change everything and risk losing our identity." Their tasting capacaties were without any doubt developed by their father, Francis Courselle, professor of oenology, who made Chateau Thieuley very famous in the 1970s.
This wine is produced on a clay-limestone terrain. The area is 22 hectares. Aged in barrels.
