2007 Chassagne-Montrachet Veilles Vignes, Henri Clerc, Bourgogne, France, Chassagne-Montrachet
Actually this domain is very old as it has been founded somewhere in the 16th century. It is situated in the centre of Puligny-Montrachet.
Bernard Clerc decided in 2002 to resign and a big part of the 11 hectares of vineyard were distributed amongst family members. Another important part of the vineyard has been bought by the famous domain Vincent Girardin. For this reason the wines are now made and matured at a modern winemaking facility near Meursault, propriety of Vincent Girardin.
The harvest is always manual. Wines will mature on barrels with usually one third of new barrels. This wine matured for 13 months on barrels before bottling.
