Domaine Gracieux Chevalier, Burgundy, France, Crémant de Bourgogne
Maison Veuve Ambal is an owner/grower of over 200 ha of vineyards, which makes it the owner of one of the biggest vineyard areas in Burgundy.
The estates are located in 4 different wine-growing regions and this diversity gives the rich and complex aromas that can be found in the Maison's wines. In fact, Veuve Ambal’s Crémant de Bourgogne uses the special features of each Burgundy wine-growing region like a painter uses a large palette of colours to enhance the qualities of their work.
This vineyard occupies an area of 52 hectares including 45 hectares in one piece to Irancy and 7 hectares on the slopes of the valley of the Cure.
Vines are low planted. It draws its mineral qualities from its typical clay-limestone soil of the best terroirs of Burgundy. It is planted in three varieties, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and some Gamay.
Produced in the former farm of Perignon, the Maison produces a complex Crémant de Bourgogne, with floral notes and red fruit mixed with notes of brioche and aromas of apricot and peach. The character of the vineyards of Auxerrois gives it its smells of hot pastries and fruit.
