2007 Le Bailly de Camensac, Bordeaux, France, Haut-Médoc
The vineyard of the Château de Camensac extends over 75 hectares in the commune of Saint-Laurent-du-Medoc. Grand Cru Classé in 1855 in the Haut-Médoc appellation, located on the border with Saint-Julien, the terroir of Camensac is composed of magnificent fine and deep hillside gravels laid on a clay-limestone substrate with so-called alios clays. The estate was completely renovated by the Forner family, owners from 1964. Thanks to the state-of-the-art production equipment and a redevelopment of the buildings, the estate deserves its rank of 1855 when it is taken over in 2005 by Céline Villars-Foubet and her uncle Jean Merlaut. The vineyard, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon vines (60%) and Merlot vines (40%), at a rate of 10,000 feet per hectare, is cultivated with a plot approach and yields limited to 40-45 hl / ha, to extract the best quality.
