Cuvée Royale Brut Blanc de Blancs, Joseph Perrier, Champagne, France, Champagne
Maison Joseph Perrier is a small family company founded in 1825 by Joseph Perrier. They can enjoy a beautiful location for storing bottles: the chalk quarries (crayères) dating back to Roman times.
They own 21 hectares of vineyards, conveniently located on a hillside on the edge of the Marne, and planted with the three grape varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, essential to the development of a classic champagne.
This champagne is an assembly of 100% Chardonnay, with about 15% of reserve wines. It is made with fifteen crus from the Côte des Blancs, the region of Bassuet and of some Chardonnays from the vineyard in Cumières. Aging at least 5 years.
The Cuvee name Royale is achieved by the fact that the house was supplier of the Crown in England for Queen Victoria and King Eduard VII.
