2008 Zephyr Sauvignon Blanc, Dillons Point, New Zealand, Marlborough

Inspired by other pioneers of Marlborough, Owen and Wendy Glover, developed in 1985 an ambitious plan to plant vines on their domain Dillon Point. Initially, they planted Sauvignon Blanc , Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.

All their hard work and passion payed off in 2007, as they could launch their own brand ‘Zephyr’. This brand immediately attracted the attention of the international wine press, Tim Atkin (famous British wine writer) even wrote: "If I had to choose a Sauvignon Blanc of Marlborough today it would be Zephyr."

The name is derived from the former Greek name Zephyr referring to the west wind, personified in the god Zephyros, and refers to the winds of Marlborough, which help to provide unique conditions for the grapes to ripen to optimum ripeness. The wines reflect the dynamic nature of the Glover family and the vibrant flavors of their vineyards. Here they have developed a wine of exceptional quality.
