Bourgogne, soil appropriated for the viticulture

From all the wineyards in the world, the one of Bourgogne is the most privileged. More than that, it has an extraordinary and uncomparable geographic location and a favorable climate for the cultivation of the most remarkable and high quality. The terroir that is already favoured by the nature, also benefits from a climate on the junction of the Mediterranee, Oceanic and Continental latitude.

The wineyards of Bourgogne are approximatly 250km long and constitute an area of 29500 hectare that produces more than 100 internationally well-known wines. The favoured location of this wineyard allows the production of delicious wines thanks to the expertise and authentic winegrowers who passes this expertise on to the next generation.

Grape varieties and appellations of the Bourgogne wines

A reason for the fame of the Bourgogne wines is the use of Pinot Noir as most important grape variety for the red wines and Chardonnay for the white wines. The AOC for Bourgogne wines that protects the winegrowers from unfair competition exists since 1935. Bourgogne also produces red wine from an arrangement of grape varieties Pinot Noir and Gamay, namely the Passetoutgrains. Chardonnay is used for the fine white wines and Aligoté for the fruity variant. Crémant and rosé wine is also produced in small quantities.
